Amendment to the Job Support Scheme (JSS)

The Chancellor, Rishi Sunak, has announced a further change to the JSS, which is set to begin on 1st November.

When the scheme was originally announced, in order to claim the grant, the employee had to work a minimum of 33% of their normal working hours. As of today, this has now been reduced to 20% which means that employers who have employees who work even 1 day per week, will be able to claim under the scheme.

Another change to the scheme is that the number of hours the employer has to contribute for the unworked hours has reduced from 33% to 5%. This will mean that more employees will be able to be kept in the workplace, albeit on reduced hours.

If you are considering putting some of your employees on the JSS, you need to ensure that you have their agreement in writing. Get in touch today and we can draft a bespoke agreement for you and for a limited time, we are offering this at a fixed fee of £250 plus vat.
