Holiday pay – Changes to minimise the impact of COVID-19

The Government has today announced that new legislation is going to be introduced which will allow workers to carry over up to 4 weeks of their annual leave entitlement into the next 2 leave years, where it has not been possible for them to take some or all of their holidays due to the Coronavirus.

This change will allow Company’s to manage their workforce and ensure that workers holidays rights are protected.

The additional 1.6 weeks granted to UK workers is not covered by this legislation, but can be carried over for up to a year by agreement between the parties.
